Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling joined Comcast and other officials March 7 in helping to celebrate the National Education Association's National Read Across America Day, as well as the 50th Birthday of The Cat In the Hat, by reading a Dr. Seuss book to kindergarten students at Short Pump E.S.

Bolling also donated a signed copy of Dr. Seuss'' Sleep Book to the school library and helped the students film a 30-second public service announcement, which will air on local cable networks throughout March to emphasize the importance of reading to children. Among other officials who joined Bolling in the week of read-aloud events were Gov. Tim Kaine and Henrico County Manager Virgil Hazelett, who read to first graders at Maude Trevvett E.S.
