Richmond - Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling issued the following statement in support of Governor McDonnell's State of the Commonwealth Address:
"I commend Governor McDonnell for laying out a bold vision and detailed plan to reform government and expand economic opportunity for Virginia families. I look forward to working with the Governor and General Assembly leaders to pass our "Opportunity At Work" Agenda, which will enable us to effectively compete for business, industry and jobs and advance key economic development strategies in important areas like technology, tourism, small business, workforce training and job creating tax reform. The Governor's proposals for improving higher education, investing in our transportation infrastructure, reforming state government and controlling spending are critically important to promoting economic growth and creating jobs. I share the Governor's commitment to do everything we can to ensure a more prosperous future for the Commonwealth and its citizens. It is my hope that members of the General Assembly on both sides of the aisle will work with us to successfully implement these proposals."
