Waynesboro's 11th Annual Fly Fishing Festival wrapped up Sunday.
The two-day festival offers beginning and experienced fly-fishers workshops to improve their casting and expertise on how to choose the right bait. Organizers typically expect about 1,700 visitors, but Saturday's severe weather likely dampened those numbers.
Fly Fishing and Wine Fest Co-Chair Len Poulin said, "Unfortunately the weather certainly kept a good number of folks away, but we were very surprised by the amount of people that did show up."
Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling was the keynote speaker Saturday night. He spoke about the importance of fly fishing to Virginia tourism.
