Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax to Deliver Six Commencement Addresses

Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax will deliver the following commencement addresses this graduation season at the following schools and institutions of higher learning:

  • May 5, 2018: Norfolk State University. Commencement will take place at 9 a.m. at William “Dick” Price football stadium.
  • May, 11, 2018: Piedmont Virginia Community College. Commencement will take place at 6 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville.
  • May 12, 2018: Howard University School of Law.  The Law School’s Hooding Ceremony will be located on Howard’s main campus in the Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C.  
  • May 13, 2018: Virginia State University. Commencement will take place at 2 p.m. at the VSU Multipurpose Center in Petersburg. 
  • May, 31, 2018: Washington Jesuit Academy. Commencement will take place at 6 p.m. at Washington Jesuit Academy.
  • June 13, 2018: George Mason High School (Falls Church). Commencement will take place at DAR Constitution Hall at 5 p.m

With this group of commencement addresses, the Lt. Governor will be highlighting the contributions of many different learning environments that make it possible for students to get a high quality education -- public high school, private high school, community college, universities, and a law school. Each plays an important role in building a strong future for students and for our economy based on education, training, opportunity, and hard work. 

The Lt. Governor supports investments in high quality education. He has spoken often about the opportunities that became available to him as a result of the high quality education he received during his time in high school, university, and law school.
